Why Profitility Exists
Profitility was founded by a gig worker, for the gig worker, after many years of experiencing — and seeing — the same frustrations across the industry.
After more than a decade working across multiple gig platforms including Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, Uber Eats, Shipt, Instacart, and Spark, one problem became increasingly clear: many drivers and independent contractors believe they are making money, but without clear insight into expenses, mileage, and operating costs, it can be difficult to know their true profitability.
The idea for Profitility began as a simple spreadsheet built to answer a basic question: “What am I actually making?”
That spreadsheet used formulas and macros to estimate profitability and help evaluate which jobs were truly worth taking. While helpful, it required constant manual effort and couldn’t track long-term progress or performance trends.
Profitility was created to solve that problem.
